EcoBot Challenge Logo Kids are taught procedures to solve problems, but not how to solve problems for which they have no procedures.

How 2010
Challenge Worked

Considering participating in 2011? Download the 2010 Ecobot rules, illustrated robotics guide and marketing guide to get a feeling for how the contest works. Each year, however, the tasks change to ensure previous participants don't have an unfair advantage.

Marketing Challenge

Students who choose to enter the Marketing Challenge must develop and present a five-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint presentation of a fictional robot which will reflect their engineering imagination, communication and marketing presentation skills. The time limit for each presentation is 5 minutes with an additional 2 minutes for questions from the judges.

The winners will be those who best define an important need and a method of fulfilling it. Last year's entries included everything from robots that would plant seeds to robots that could purify water.

Awards are presented to the top 10 teams in Robotics, the top 10 teams in Marketing and the top 10 teams overall.
